Low pressure at the surface and aloft will move south/southeast out of the Dakotas this weekend. This system has been trending farther west/south in model guidance over the last 24 hours or so, what this means is the more widespread coverage of rain showers should setup from western to south-central Minnesota this weekend with generally isolated to scattered showers occurring in the Northland Saturday and Sunday.

…Weekend Forecast for Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin…
Valid: May 11-12, 2019
For the most part the weather this weekend doesn’t look too bad.
•Easterly wind is forecast near Lake Superior which will keep temperatures cooler near the lake both Saturday and Sunday, highs in the 40s to middle 50s with those east winds in the 10 to 15 mph range.
•Farther inland, temperatures Saturday afternoon should get into the 60s with southerly breezes 10 to 20 mph, gusts to 25 mph. Sunday’s high temps ranging from the mid 50s to mid 60s, southerly winds 10 to 15 mph, gusts to 20 mph. A mix of sun/clouds both Saturday and Sunday.
•For those early morning anglers, low temps Saturday morning will mainly be in the 30s. Lows Sunday morning mainly in the 40s with 30s near Lake Superior.
•Mid to upper level area of low pressure will track slowly south/southeast out of the Northern Plains this weekend. Colder air aloft (500mb temps around -25C) combined with the heating of the day will likely cause isolated to scattered coverage of showers Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Note: The showers look to be much more isolated in coverage near Lake Superior, in fact some locations near Lake Superior might stay dry the entire weekend.
