January 2020 Climate Summaries for the Northland

January 2020 featured warmer than average temperatures and above normal precipitation in the Northland. Snowfall totals for the month were near to above normal in most of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, but Duluth recorded below normal snowfall for the month of January, making it the 15th consecutive January to have below normal snowfall in Duluth. Note: The last time we had above normal snowfall in Duluth for the month of January was in 2005!

Duluth, Minnesota
