Cooler temperatures this week; some rain possible Monday (rain/snow mix in the Arrowhead)

We’ve got a little rain in the forecast for parts of the Northland on Monday, and there is even a chance that the rain could mix with some snow Monday night-Tuesday morning over the Arrowhead of Minnesota (north of Duluth) but little if any snow accumulation is expected at this time.

18z NAM 3km model simulated radar forecast valid from 1 AM Monday to 7 AM Tuesday. Note: Black outlined area is where we could see a rain/snow mix develop Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Around a quarter to half inch of rain is possible across northern Minnesota Monday into Tuesday morning with trace to less than a tenth of an inch of rain possible further south including for Duluth and Superior.

We won’t be seeing anymore 70 or 80 degree temperatures again in Duluth anytime soon as high temps are forecast to be below normal thru May 12th — Normal highs in Duluth from May 3rd to May 12th are right around 60 degrees, while normal lows are around 40 degrees.
