Updated Snowfall Forecast

11:02 PM Sunday, December 26, 2021

Some very impressive snowfall amounts have come in late this evening with reports of 6 to nearly 12 inches of snow already west and south of the Brainerd area, including around 3″ per hour snowfall rates in Saint Mathias for the past 3 hours or since 8 PM.

Reports of 4 to 6 inches of snow this evening from Hinckley, east to the Webster and Siren areas in northwest Wisconsin.

Snowfall Reports from around the Northland thru 10 PM Sunday, December 26, 2021

5 ESE Saint Mathias, MN: 11.5″ (9.5″ of snow since 8 PM)
1 NW Motley, MN: 9.0″
Webster, WI: 6.0″

East Gull Lake, MN: 6.0″
Siren, WI: 5.0″
Hinckley, MN: 4.4″

Given what’s already fallen south of Brainerd, there likely will be a few reports of over 12″ of snow in that 7-10″ zone.

I also shifted the 7-10″ snowfall gradient farther SE across northwest Wisconsin with reports of 5-6″ of snow already in the Webster and Siren areas.

Note: The first flakes have just started to fall now at my location in West Duluth, MN (11:01 PM Sunday)
