Arctic Air on the way!

The pattern ahead will turn less snowy but a lot colder in the Northland with the period from Friday night through Sunday looking particularly cold!

-A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect from Midnight tonight through 11 AM Wednesday for parts of north-central and east-central Minnesota including the cities of International Falls, Bigfork, Grand Rapids, Cass Lake, Walker, Pine River, Brainerd, Aitkin and Hill City. This is likely the first of many wind chill headlines that will be needed for much of the Northland through this weekend.

  • The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes

In addition to the bitterly cold air temperatures, we’re also looking at the potential for dangerously cold wind chills through this weekend, with the period from Friday night through Sunday morning looking downright frigid, with wind chill values as cold as 30 below to 45 below zero across much of the Northland.
