- A dry Labor Day weekend in the Northland with cooler temperatures.
- High temperatures ranging from around 60 to 70 in the Northland on Saturday, and from the mid 60s to low 70s Sunday. Highs on Labor Day (Monday) will range from the mid 60s to mid 70s.
- About the only weather issue in our area through Labor Day may be the potential for some low cloud/fog development Saturday night/Sunday morning, and again Sunday night/Monday morning.
- 80s or near 80-degree temperatures could return to parts of the Northland for the middle to end of next week.
- No rain in the Northland at least through the middle of next week and possibly all the way through next weekend.
Looking ahead to next week’s pattern features a trough with below normal heights and temperatures over parts of the southern US, while widespread above normal temps and heights with upper-level ridging stretches from the western US into the northern US and from central to eastern Canada.
At the moment it looks like the warmest temperatures (compared to average for early September) will remain west and north of the Northland, but we’re still expecting above normal temps in our area for much of next week.
Looks like it may stay dry in much of the Northland possibly all the way through next weekend.
We may see temperatures get cold enough for a threat for patchy frost early Sunday morning over parts of the Northland, but a widespread killing frost/freeze is unlikely.

These storms are forming along a cold front which continues to move south/east late this afternoon.
It was another warm late summer day in parts of the Northland with highs in the 80s today across all of northwest Wisconsin, and in parts of eastern Minnesota, but cooler temperatures are already showing up across northern Minnesota this afternoon, and those cooler temperatures will be spreading farther south/east this weekend.
Note: Duluth recorded its second 80-degree day this month today. On average Duluth only has 2 days with a high of at least 80 in September, so we’ve already reached that in just the first two days of this month.
