A winter storm could hit parts of northeast Iowa and southwest/central Wisconsin on Thursday with a potential for heavy wet snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches or more along with gusty winds, this storm looks like it will stay well to the south of the Northland on Thursday, but a weaker system and cold front moving east out of the Northern Plains could bring a little snow to parts of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin Thursday into early Friday but currently it looks like snow accumulations would be under an inch in our area.
Heads up if you have travel plans south of the Northland on Thursday where a Winter Storm Watch is in effect (blue area on map)

Scattered to isolated severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday and Wednesday night over the Lower Mississippi Valley with a potential for damaging winds, a few tornadoes and possibly some large hail.
Pattern for next week will be favorable for a potentially strong system to move out of the Rockies or Plains sometime next week, but there is considerable uncertainty regarding the storm track, temperatures and precipitation types should this system come far enough north to impact the Northland.

Looks like temperatures will be above average in the Northland next week, especially early in the week, but there are some colder risks developing on the models for late next week.
Currently the greatest temperature anomalies for next week are forecast to be over the Rockies (below average) and over the eastern Great Lakes into the eastern U.S. (above average)
A brief cool down on Friday, otherwise we’re looking at afternoon temperatures at or above freezing in Duluth from Wednesday through the middle of next week, but this could be followed by a more important cold shot later next week.
Note — I think there is a chance we could see our first 40-degree temperature of 2023 in Duluth sometime between Wednesday and next Tuesday. The last time it was 40 or warmer in Duluth was on November 26th, 2022 (high of 50)
