May 2023 will be remembered as a month which featured a blocking pattern (Omega Block) along with what seems like a never-ending east wind near Lake Superior which I guess isn’t too unusual for May, but the number of days with an east wind this month does seem to have been a little more than usual.

More isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Northland tonight and Thursday. No severe weather is expected, but heavy rainfall is likely where thunderstorms occur. Expect many dry hours mixed in, and not everyone will be seeing rain tonight or Thursday.

Portions of north central Minnesota did well in the rainfall department Tuesday with radar estimated rainfall totals of 1-2″+ in some areas.
Rains were much more scattered farther to the southeast with the Duluth Airport only reporting a trace of rain on Tuesday.
