May 2023 will be remembered as a month which featured a blocking pattern (Omega Block) along with what seems like a never-ending east wind near Lake Superior which I guess isn’t too unusual for May, but the number of days with an east wind this month does seem to have been a little more than usual.

Portions of north central Minnesota did well in the rainfall department Tuesday with radar estimated rainfall totals of 1-2″+ in some areas.
Rains were much more scattered farther to the southeast with the Duluth Airport only reporting a trace of rain on Tuesday.
