The week ahead will hold a few more chances for rain, but rainfall should be a bit more scattered in the days ahead compared to what we saw the last few days, so there’s no guarantee that everyone in the Northland will be seeing rain the next few days.

Will continue to see scattered showers in the Northland tonight on the backside of an area of low pressure which will continue to move farther away from the area as it tracks ESE out of central/southern Wisconsin. Isolated showers are also possible on Monday with a somewhat greater chance for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms for Tuesday and Wednesday.

0.61″ of rain at the Duluth Airport on June 24, 2023, this is the greatest calendar day precipitation total since April 20 when the Duluth Airport recorded 0.79″ of precipitation, and also 3.2″ of snow.

Rainfall totals for June 2023 are still running about 1 to 2 inches below normal to date in much of the Northland.

A widespread rain event in the Northland the last few days, and of course there was quite a bit of variation in rainfall totals which is pretty typical when dealing with summer rainfall patterns.

There were a few pockets of 2 to 3 inch plus rainfall totals across the Northland over the last few days, but on average we saw anywhere from around one-half inch to an inch of rain in the area since Friday.
