More frost is likely in parts of the Northland late tonight/early Thursday morning with temperatures in the low to mid 30s with some 20s possible once again in the typical cold spots.
Temperatures will warm nicely come Thursday afternoon as southerly winds increase out ahead of the next low-pressure system approaching from the west. Highs on Thursday will range from the 60s along the North Shore of Lake Superior to the 70s across the rest of the area, with near 80-degree temperatures possible around the Brainerd area.
The next system to affect the Northland is currently over northwest Canada today. This system will move southeast during the next few days and will move over the Great Lakes this weekend.
Will see a couple cold fronts pass through the Northland late Thursday into Friday, and then an upper-level trough moves over the area this weekend.
Scattered rains are likely in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin late Thursday into early Friday, with some additional showers albeit more isolated in coverage occurring Friday and Saturday.

Last year we had to wait until late September (27th to be exact) for temperatures as cold as they were this morning.
