The pattern through early next week looks pretty dry in the Northland, but a shift in the pattern is possible mid to late next week, and this new pattern may turn a little more active in the upper Midwest.

A broad trough of low pressure centered in the western U.S. early next week is forecast to move farther east by mid to late next week, and as that trough moves east it could bring some precipitation to the Northland.

Doesn’t look like a major winter storm at the moment.

But looking at the temperatures for next week reveals more of the same in that there will be a lack of cold air, so any precipitation we get in Duluth late next week could be in the form of rain or wet snow.

Well above average temperatures are expected to continue in the Northland next week.
