A quiet weather pattern for the Northland through early next week as high-pressure approaches from central Canada and the northern Plains.
Highs Friday and Saturday will be in the 30s to lower 40s with highs Sunday mostly in the 40s.
Early next week looks even warmer with highs Monday and Tuesday in the 50s to lower 60s but a lake breeze is possible and if one occurs, then temperatures won’t be as warm near Lake Superior including in Duluth early next week.
Duluth has recorded 1 day so far this month with a temperature of at least 50 degrees. The average number of 50 degree days in Duluth in March is 2 days.
Note: No snow so far this month in Duluth while International Falls has recorded 3.5 inches of snow.
Average snowfall in March at Duluth is 12.8 inches, while the average snowfall at International Falls is 7.9 inches.
Very little snow is expected in the Northland through next week.
Parts of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin saw quite a bit of cloud cover today with more sunshine farther to the west/north from Brainerd and Aitkin north to Hibbing, Cook and International Falls.

Still seeing quite a range in temperatures across the area today with teens and 20s in much of North Dakota into northwest Minnesota with milder 40s and lower 50s in northwest Wisconsin.
Severe Thunderstorm Watches are in effect through this evening over parts of the central and southern Plains.
The risk for severe thunderstorms continues the next few days farther south/east from where the risk is tonight. Large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible Friday and again on Saturday.
