The warm temperatures will persist into Thursday, with highs reaching into the 80s in the Northland. Friday is forecasted to be even hotter, with some areas potentially seeing temperatures soar to around 90 to 92 degrees.

The humidity will persist, with dew points expected to range from the upper fifties to the sixties across the region on both Thursday and Friday.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to persist in parts of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin tonight and into Thursday. However, similar to recent patterns, the precipitation will be sporadic rather than widespread, resulting in minimal to no rainfall in some areas, while others may receive more substantial amounts.

Today’s weather is complex with several low-pressure areas. A cold front (blue on the map) is moving eastward from northwest Minnesota and the Dakotas, while a secondary system with both a warm front (red on the map) and a cold front is passing further south of the Northland.

Furthermore, an upper-level trough is progressing eastward across the northern Plains, heading into the upper Midwest today.

HRRR model simulated radar forecast valid from Midnight tonight to 7 PM Thursday.

This afternoon, a cluster of showers and thunderstorms moved eastward from the eastern Dakotas into western, northern, and central Minnesota. This activity was driven by significant lift over the upper Midwest, influenced by various boundaries, surface lows, and the approach of an upper-level trough.
