Recent Rainfall Patterns in Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota

Duluth has certainly experienced a shift toward a more active and wetter weather pattern recently, with an increase in precipitation events. While these events have not brought significant amounts of precipitation, the pattern has been noticeably more active since mid-October.

The recent rainfall event brought varying totals, ranging from about a quarter to a half-inch in northwest Wisconsin from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. In contrast, northeast Minnesota saw close to a quarter-inch of rain, with certain areas recording slightly more.

Rainfall totals in the Duluth metro area ranged from 0.27 inches to 0.38 inches since Sunday evening.

-In September 2024, Duluth recorded only four precipitation events with a minimum of 0.01 inches, which rose to twelve such events in October 2024. So far this month, there have been three precipitation events of at least 0.01 inches.

-Today, November 4, 2024, has been the seventh consecutive day with at least a trace of precipitation recorded in Duluth.
