Northland Rainfall Report: November 9-10, 2024

The Northland experienced another rain event from Saturday night into Sunday morning, with generally light rainfall amounts ranging from 0.01 inches to approximately 0.15 inches. However, Grand Rapids, MN reported 0.22 inches of rain, and Hill City recorded 0.21 inches of rain.

In the Duluth area, rain totals varied from 0.10 to 0.19 inches, while Duluth Sky Harbor recorded a mere 0.02 inches of rainfall since Saturday evening.

In Duluth, there were only four precipitation events with a minimum of 0.01 inches in September. The frequency of these events rose in October and early November, with 18 occurrences noted. Although there was an uptick in frequency, the volume of precipitation remained light for the most part, with just two instances exceeding a quarter-inch since the start of September. These heavier precipitations happened on October 30th, with 0.32 inches recorded, and on November 5th, with 0.27 inches.
