Forecasted Snowfall for Duluth and the Northland; Potential Arctic Air Next Weekend

Two low-pressure systems, one approaching from the northwest and another moving east-northeast from southern Iowa, will be connected by a trough. This intricate system is expected to bring sufficient lift and moisture to cause widespread snowfall across northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin from Sunday night into Monday.

Note: On average, Duluth experiences three days in November with at least 1.0 inch of snowfall. However, this November, there has been no snowfall meeting that criterion. The most recent occurrence of at least 1 inch of snow in Duluth was on October 31st, with a total of 1.6 inches.

Duluth has received only 0.2 inches of snow this month, which is 10 inches below the average through November 23rd.
