Temperatures are dropping and winds continue to increase as the next surge of arctic air moves into the Northland this afternoon.
In addition to the strong winds and colder temperatures we’ve seen snow showers and snow squalls move southeast across the Northland today with brief near whiteout conditions occurring due to the falling and blowing snow.

Temperatures have fallen into the upper single digits and teens in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin early this afternoon with wind chill temperatures ranging from around 5 above to 10 below zero.

A mix bag of weather conditions this afternoon with some sunshine in between the snow showers, and some of those snow showers have been intense for brief periods of time with a quick half inch or so of accumulation.
