This post will focus on a more significant snow event which is forecast to impact parts of northern Minnesota from Sunday afternoon into Monday morning.
I’ve been tracking a weather system on the computer models for early next week. I initially noted this system on Tuesday, December 3rd. It appears to be a strong system; however, its trajectory is shifting northward, reducing the likelihood of a major snow event affecting the Duluth area from Sunday to Monday.
-Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon for far northeast Minnesota including the Arrowhead region.
Note: Additional winter weather headlines will probably be issued for other parts of northern Minnesota this weekend for the Sunday-early Monday time frame.
-The weather system expected on Sunday will bring warmer air, resulting in a range of issues such as mixed precipitation and denser, wetter snowfall throughout northern Minnesota.
-Additionally, the accumulation of snow on trees and power lines, along with east winds gusting from 20 to 35 mph, may cause power lines to fall, resulting in sporadic power outages across Minnesota’s Arrowhead region from Sunday evening into Monday.

My Black Friday deal concludes today. The annual price has been reduced to $35 from $60. Thank you to everyone who has taken advantage of this offer.
