Parts of northeast Minnesota, including the North Shore and Arrowhead regions, are forecasted to experience a wintry mix of precipitation from late this evening to early Saturday afternoon.
Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from late tonight to Saturday afternoon including the cities of International Falls, Hibbing, Virginia, Cook, Ely, Two Harbors, Isabella, Silver Bay, Lutsen and Grand Marais.

Most of the precipitation expected late tonight through Saturday morning is likely to remain north-northeast of Duluth.

Snowfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are possible through Saturday morning over far northeast Minnesota around the Grand Marais area, with lesser amounts of snow farther west/south.
Duluth area: Trace of snow is possible early Saturday morning.

Euro Model — Freezing rain (ice accumulation) forecast through 12 PM Saturday.
Note: The pink areas on the map below indicate potential ice accumulations, varying from a trace to approximately 0.10 inches. The greater accumulations are anticipated north and east of the Iron Range, encompassing the Arrowhead and the far northern regions of Minnesota.

Warmer air is moving eastward from the northern Rockies and northern Plains today, while an Arctic air mass envelops the regions further north across central Canada.
As the warmer air shifts eastward, it will transition the snowfall late tonight into a wintry mix by Saturday morning in parts of northern Minnesota.
