-A few inches of snow are likely in far northeast Minnesota Tuesday, while the rest of the Northland, including the Duluth area, will experience only a few snow showers or flurries with minimal snow accumulation.
-A winter weather advisory is in effect from early Tuesday morning to late Tuesday night for far northeastern Minnesota including the cities of Lutsen, Grand Marais, and Isabella.
-There is a possibility of scattered heavier snow squalls in the Northland late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening as colder air moves back into the region.
-Another round of strong winds is expected on Tuesday and Tuesday night, with gusts between 25 and 45 mph with a few gusts as high as 50 mph possible. Winds will begin from the southwest and then change to the northwest.

Here’s my updated snowfall forecast for Tuesday’s clipper.
- Highest amounts of about 2 to 4 inches in far northeastern Minnesota.
- Up to 2 inches of snow north of Highway 2 in northeast Minnesota.
- Duluth area: Trace to a half inch of snow possible by late Tuesday night.

Temperatures today were mild, generally in the 30s, with some areas in the south reaching the 40s.
Today, the temperature in Duluth climbed above freezing for the first time since January 17th (high of 35 degrees). Notably, just one week ago, the high temperature in Duluth was -12 degrees.

Temperatures this afternoon were around 15 to 20 degrees above normal in the Northland on this 27th day of January, 2025.

Tuesday will be warmer in southern Minnesota, with highs in the 40s to about 50 degrees.
Cooler but still above normal temperatures expected farther north in our area, with highs ranging from the 30s to around 40 degrees, with the coolest temperatures in the Arrowhead region.

Severe Thunderstorm Potential
A few strong to severe thunderstorms may occur on Wednesday and Thursday in central and east Texas. The main threat is damaging winds, along with some hail and a chance of an isolated tornado.
