Rain is set to return to northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin on Thursday as a powerful system currently hitting California moves northeast, sweeping through the northern Plains and upper Midwest from Thursday into Friday.

A warm front and cold front linked to this low-pressure system will move through the Northland later this week, bringing occasional showers to the area. Isolated thunderstorms might also occur, primarily on Thursday, due to a warm air advection pattern with some weak amounts of CAPE in the region.

The forecast indicates that northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin could receive about 0.1 to 0.25 inches of rain on Thursday, with isolated showers potentially continuing into Friday and Saturday.
