Northland Weather: Recent Rainfall and Wind Reports

A light rain passed through the Twin Ports late Monday afternoon, bringing about 0.05 inches of precipitation. Other areas in the Northland saw heavier rainfall over the past 24 hours, with totals ranging from a quarter inch to around 0.35 inches.

Note: Duluth has received just 0.44 inches of rain this month, which is 1.66 inches below the normal amount for this time. Since September 1st, precipitation in Duluth is 2.61 inches below normal, and for the year, the city is approaching a deficit of 9 inches, currently sitting at 8.69 inches below normal.

The last time Duluth saw a quarter inch or more of rain was on September 21st, with 0.29 inches recorded, roughly four weeks ago.

We’ve seen frequent rains in Duluth since September 1st, but many of these events haven’t amounted to much, especially the ones we’ve seen this month.

It’s been a windy Tuesday across the western parts of the Northland, with gusts ranging from 25 to 40 mph. Meanwhile, the Arrowhead region has experienced calmer winds today, being closer to an area of low pressure.
