Some rain or snow expected tonight in far northern Minnesota.

A low-pressure system is set to move east from western Minnesota tonight, bringing rain and snow to far northern Minnesota and the Arrowhead region. Further south, including the Twin Ports and northwest Wisconsin, only a few scattered showers are expected, if anything happens at all.

On Friday, a few rain and snow showers will pass through the Northland with highs in the 30s to around 40 degrees, and cold temperatures will stick around through the weekend with highs in the 20s to lower 30s and lows in the teens and 20s.

Dry air remains over far northern Minnesota early this evening, so radar returns might not be reaching the ground (virga). Still, some precipitation is expected tonight.

Far northern Minnesota might see snow accumulations of less than an inch tonight, with a small area in the Arrowhead region, away from Lake Superior in the higher terrain, potentially getting 1 to 2 inches.

Precipitation amounts between 0.05 and 0.15 inches, or slightly higher, are anticipated tonight in far northern Minnesota, with only trace amounts expected farther south.

It was a cold morning in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, with temperatures dropping into the mid-teens and 20s. On November 6th, typical lows generally range from the lower to upper 20s.
