11 a.m. Weather Update – November 24, 2025

Two systems are in play this morning—one over the central Plains and another moving into the northern Rockies. It’s the latter that will bring accumulating snow and rain to northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin on Tuesday.

GOES-19 water vapor loop with the 500mb analysis overlaid from Monday morning, November 24, 2025, ending at 10:10 AM CT.

Much of northeast Minnesota and all of northwest Wisconsin can expect significant precipitation from this system, with totals potentially ranging from half an inch to an inch or more, and the highest amounts likely in northern Wisconsin.

The HRRR model is displayed below, showing forecasted precipitation totals up to 6 AM on Wednesday.

The odds of getting a half inch or more of precipitation on Tuesday in Duluth are looking pretty good right now, and if it happens, it would be the first time since September 2nd that Duluth has seen that much precipitation.

Here’s a look at the HRRR model forecast for precipitation types, valid from 6 AM Tuesday through 6 AM Wednesday.

With a northeast wind coming off the 40-plus degree waters of Lake Superior, Tuesday’s precipitation will probably begin as rain but is expected to turn to snow by the afternoon.

Snow is likely to continue falling in Duluth from Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning before slowly easing up.

I’ll be posting another update with the latest snowfall forecast later today.
