On December 7th, typical low temperatures in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin range from about 5 to 15 degrees, but this morning they were once again well below normal.

Ash Lake, Minnesota claimed the title of coldest spot in the Northland this morning, hitting a frigid -21 degrees, with Cook and Littlefork close behind at -20 degrees.

Duluth recorded its fourth subzero low temperature of the month this morning. The average number of subzero nights in December is nine, and it looks like we’ll have no trouble hitting that mark—and probably surpassing it.
