Snowfall totals for the 2025-2026 season as of October 1.

Marquette, MI
Total: 53.0 inches
Departure: +14.9 inches above normal

Sault Ste Marie, MI
Total: 22.7 inches
Departure: -1.4 inches below normal

Duluth, MN
Total: 17.8 inches
Departure: -3.2 inches below normal

Chicago, IL
Total: 17.1 inches
Departure: +13.6 inches above normal

Sioux Falls, SD
Total: 14.3 inches
Departure: +4.8 inches above normal

Des Moines, IA
Total: 12.9 inches
Departure: +8.1 inches above normal

Twin Cities, MN
Total: 10.0 inches
Departure: -0.2 inches below normal

St. Cloud, MN
Total: 9.9 inches
Departure: -0.2 inches below normal

Green Bay, WI
Total: 8.6 inches
Departure: +2.8 inches above normal

Eau Claire, WI
Total: 8.1 inches
Departure: +0.3 inches above normal

International Falls, MN
Total: 7.9 inches
Departure: -9.5 inches below normal

Grand Forks, ND
Total: 2.1 inches
Departure: -6.9 inches below normal

Along the South Shore of Lake Superior, Marquette, MI has already seen over 50 inches of snow this season.

Many Midwest cities have been experiencing well above normal snowfall this season, while areas from Grand Forks, ND, to International Falls, MN, have seen less snowfall than usual.

Sault Ste. Marie, MI has received 37 inches less snow this season compared to last season as of December 7th, with 22 inches this year versus 59 inches last year.

Duluth, MN has had about 85% of its usual snowfall by December 7th, running just slightly below normal, but still over 10 inches more than what we saw by this date last season.
