It’s been a stormy Friday afternoon across parts of central and eastern Minnesota into western Wisconsin, with multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Some storms have been severe, producing large hail from quarter size up to golf ball size (1″ to 1.75″ in diameter), and there have even been a few tornado warnings with radar-indicated rotation. This comes after temperatures dipped into the 30s in parts of northern Minnesota early Friday morning.
We haven’t seen much rain in the Twin Ports today, with most of the heavier showers passing to our south. It doesn’t look like Duluth will get much from this system either, just a slight chance of a few showers this evening.
This weekend should be mostly dry across the Northland, with just a chance of a few isolated pop-up showers on Saturday, though they’re not expected to be widespread.
