Weather Summary:

The next clipper system to affect the Upper Midwest will do so starting This Evening but more so Overnight and Saturday Morning as low pressure drops southeast into Western-Southern Minnesota.  Note:  There has been a westward shift in the storm track most notably in the NAM runs during the past 12 hours.  Now most of the forecast models are in decent agreement with the most significant snow staying west/southwest of the Twin Ports.

The only thing I’m a little concerned about will be the wind direction here in the Twin Ports as east winds develop for a few hours Saturday Morning.  This might be enough to generate some lake effect/enhanced snow around the head of Lake Superior, but I have doubts on whether any lake snow will even develop since the more favorable wind direction to get lake effect snow in Duluth will only last for a brief period of time.  For now I’m thinking 1″ or less accumulation for Duluth and Superior with a lower confidence of getting 2-3″ of snow.
