Today’s Weather Summary for NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin
A ridge of arctic high pressure averaging 1034mb stretches from Eastern Alberta southeast to the Central Plains. A bitterly cold airmass covered the Northland Today to the east of this high pressure system. Highs were in the single digits and teens below zero with winds out of the northwest or west at 5 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Late Afternoon wind chills were in the 20s and 30s below.

Tonight through Tuesday Night (January 27-28)
Mostly clear Tonight, partly to mostly cloudy Tomorrow and Tomorrow Night. More dangerously cold temperatures and life-threatening wind chills from Tonight through Tuesday AM.
Lows Tonight will be in teens, 20s, and 30s below with lows Tomorrow Night in the teens and 20s below. Highs on Tuesday will be in the single digits below to single digits above zero range. West or northwest winds are expected through Tomorrow Night at 5 to 15 mph with higher gusts.
-The entire Northland remains in a wind chill warning through Noon Tuesday.

Low pressure passes north of our area from Wednesday into Thursday. A cold front attached to this low sweeps through the Northland Wednesday Night with flurries or snow showers possible as that front comes through. Otherwise this period looks relatively dry.
Warmer air moves in on Wednesday with highs getting into the teens and possibly even a few lower 20s. Highs on Thursday and Friday will be in the single digits below to single digits above zero range. Lows Wednesday Night will range from around 10 below to 10 above. Lows Thursday Night will be in the single digits, teens, and 20s below.
