*Heads up!  A quick hitting winter storm Thursday Morning and early Afternoon in parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

-Twin Cities to Rice Lake (Pink area on the map) is under a winter storm warning.

-North and south, east and west of the warning is a winter weather advisory (purple area on the map)

A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of Eastern Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin.

Timing:

5 AM to 12 PM CST Wednesday.

Counties included in the advisory:

Pine MN

Burnett WI
Washburn WI
Sawyer WI
Price WI

Some cities included in the advisory:

Hinckley…Pine City…Siren…Grantsburg…Minong…Shell Lake…Spooner…Hayward…Winter…Exeland…Park Falls…Phillips…Ogema…and Prentice.

Snow accumulations:

2-4″ in the advisory area with locally higher amounts of 5-6″ possible.

Visibility:

The snow may be heavy at times with visibilities as low as one half mile.

**A winter weather advisory for snow means that accumulating snow will cause travel difficulties.  Be prepared for snow covered roads and reduced visibility**

-Newest SREF model run (21z) has increased snowfall amounts for this event.  3-6″+ is now being predicted by the SREF model…The corridor of heaviest snow looks like it’ll be over the Southern 1/2 of Minnesota and into Western-North Central Wisconsin.
