Here’s a few pictures I took last evening, Saturday, September 19, 2015. The Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge was lit up in teal blue for one more night for ovarian cancer awareness; A ship passing under the bridge just as it was getting dark last night, plus the balls of fire from the Hot Air Balloons down at Bayfront Park…And a pic of the city of Duluth from last night, what a beautiful looking city! Enjoy
Note: Average temperature at the Duluth Airport for September thru the 19th: 64.0 degrees which is +6.2 degrees warmer than normal. A very wet month with 5.19″ of rain so far, and this is +2.53″ above normal.

Weather Summary for Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin
Date: September 20, 2015
A beautiful day under partly cloudy to sunny skies. High temperatures were in the upper 60s to lower 70s which is above average for this time of year. Winds were out of the south or southwest at 10 to 20 mph.
Forecast Discussion for Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin
Short Term Forecast – Confidence: High.
Tonight (September 20)
Clear to partly cloudy. Slight chance for evening showers over far Southern areas. Low temperatures in the 50s to around 60 degrees but some of the typical cold spots will probably fall into the 40s. Southerly winds at 10 to 15 mph.
Monday and Monday night (September 21)
A mild day on Monday as southerly winds continue out ahead of a cold front which will move E-SE into the Northland by Monday night. High temperatures on Monday will be in the 70s with cooler temperatures along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Outside chance for an 80 degree temperature from Walker to Brainerd. Lows Monday night will be in the 50s to lower 60s. South or southwest winds on Monday at 10 to 20 mph with south or northwest winds Monday night at 10 to 15 mph.
Mainly dry tomorrow and tomorrow night but as the cold front approaches Monday night we could see a few spotty showers or thunderstorms develop. Moisture will increase as dew points rise into the 50s to around 60 degrees on Monday while elevated CAPE builds to 500-1500 j/kg Monday night.
Extended Forecast – Confidence: Medium.
Tuesday through Thursday (September 22-24)
The setup from Tuesday-Thursday will feature a strong area of high pressure over Ontario while Monday’s cold front stalls out south of the Northland on Tuesday, this boundary will probably remain south of our local area through Thursday the way it looks now. Moisture lifting north and over this boundary into a cooler/more stable air mass could lead to periodic rain over parts of the Northland from Tuesday PM into Thursday. At this time it looks like Tuesday night and Wednesday would have the best potential for scattered thunderstorms as elevated CAPE values will be quite high, more stable air moves in on Thursday which would lessen the chance for thunderstorms.
High temperatures on Tuesday will mainly be in the 60s with highs Wednesday and Thursday in the 50s and 60s. Lows Tuesday night and Wednesday night will be in the 50s.
Long Range Forecast – Confidence: High.
(September 25-30)
Above average temperatures are expected from the 25th-30th. Note: A wind off Lake Superior will likely continue on Friday, and possibly into Saturday so it will be cooler near Lake Superior on those days. A few showers are possible on the 26th-27th, and again around the 30th.
