An overcast and rainy morning across most of the Northland but this afternoon the weather really improved with a lot of sun developing in most areas by mid or late afternoon. Above average highs today with readings in the 70s, with Superior, Wisconsin reaching a high of 81 degrees, while a few other locations were within a degree of 80!
Quiet weather for the rest of tonight under clear to partly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the 40s to lower 50s, a few spots possibly dipping into the 30s.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies for Thursday and Friday. East wind returns so temperatures near Lake Superior will be cooler once again with highs Thursday and Friday in the 50s to around 60 degrees, but inland locations should get into the 70s to around 80 degrees Thursday and Friday.
There will be a few different frontal boundaries near our area through Friday — One front will be to our north, two more fronts farther south. Computer models remain in disagreement especially on Friday in terms of will it rain or not in our area? European model continues to be the wettest model with decent rainfall totals affecting northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, but the NAM and GFS continue to show much less rain, in fact little or no rain would occur in our area on Friday per NAM and GFS models. Stay tuned.
