Highs on Friday are forecast to range from around 50 to 60 degrees across the Northland, warmest temperatures across southern areas, from the Brainerd Lakes to Hayward Lakes. A cooler lake breeze kicks in again near Lake Superior on Friday which will keep temps in the 40s closer to Lake Superior. Note: If clouds and rain move in sooner than expected then temps will be cooler in western-southern portions of the area.

More showers (scattered coverage) are expected to pass through portions of the Northland Friday into Friday evening. These showers will be caused by some warm and moist advection which will move into the upper Midwest Friday while a weakening cold front moves east out of the Dakotas.

Saturday has potential to be the warmest day we’ve had in our area since back on April 25.
Cold front will approach from the NW with mild southwest winds out ahead of this front. A warmer airmass will be found ahead of this front on Saturday with 850mb temperatures across the Northland of +5 to +8C and 925mb temperatures of +10 to +15C. Could see highs in the 60s to lower 70s Saturday if things come together just right.

Low confidence forecast for early next week as the computer models disagree with the track of a low pressure system coming out of the Western High Plains. If this system comes far enough north it would bring some rain to parts of the Northland early next week (Monday-Tuesday) and there is even a chance for some snow to mix in with the rain early next week with enough cold air possibly in place north of this system.
