Per Superior National Forest Update
The Greenwood fire has jumped to the west side of Highway 2 and north of Stony Lake, and is close to overtaking several homes/cabins.
Greenwood fire has grown to 4,734 acres as of 4 PM Friday, August 20, 2021.
The Sheriff is conducting additional evacuations near Slate Lake, West and East Chub Lakes and Highlife Lake.

The fire crossed over a point designated as a Management Action Point, triggering evacuations in the Sand Lake and Stony Lake areas.
At 2:29 PM Friday — The Lake County Sherrif’s Office is starting evacuations in the area around Highway 1 near Highway 2 and on the Tomahawk Trail amongst other roads in the area.

Smoke plume from the Greenwood fire has been clearly visible on Duluth’s doppler radar this afternoon, a sign the fire is gaining strength like it has the last few afternoons.

Those pink colors (outlined by the black arrows) indicate hot spots/wildfires over southern Ontario Canada or in the Quetico Provincial Park and also the Greenwood Fire in northeastern Minnesota.
