SATURDAY: Partly to mostly cloudy skies across the Northland with highs in the upper 50s to middle 60s. Winds west to southwest 10 to 20 mph.

SUNDAY: A few sprinkles or showers possible early in the day, otherwise partly to mostly cloudy. Warmer than Saturday, with highs in the mid 60s to mid 70s. Variable winds becoming east 5 to 15 mph.

An upper level trough and cold front has been making its way through northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin today. This system did produce a little rain in parts of the area along with more cloud cover and cooler temperatures today.

Temperatures in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin have been running anywhere from 10 to 20 degrees cooler this afternoon compared to Thursday afternoon due to the clouds and rain today.

This weekend is looking mainly dry across the Northland, but an area of low pressure and a warm front moving SE out of the Northern Plains might lead to a few light showers in parts of the area Saturday night into Sunday morning.

We’re still looking at a mild weather pattern for the upper Midwest next week as a strong upper level ridge sets up across the area — This will lead to daytime highs in the 70s in most of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin (perhaps a tad cooler at times near Lake Superior) from Monday through Thursday, September 27-30, 2021.
