An Alberta Clipper brought widespread accumulating snow to the Northland today with snowfall amounts generally in that 1-to-4-inch range, with the higher amounts mostly north of Highway 2 in northeast Minnesota. There’s also been some lake enhanced snow around Grand Marais today with a report of nearly 6 inches of snow near Hovland thru 4 PM today.
After this evening will get a few days with no snow, but snow chances do return Tuesday night into Wednesday, but mostly just flurries with little to no accumulation expected the way it looks now. Our next best chance for a light snowfall event looks to be late next week, Thursday-Friday time frame (February 10-11)

Snow will continue to diminish from west to east in the Northland this evening.
Snow ends in Duluth around 7 PM this evening with additional accumulations of up to an inch.

Our clipper showed up nicely on visible satellite imagery as it moved across north-central Minnesota this afternoon.
A chilly Sunday ahead with highs in the low to mid-teens (5 to 10 degrees below average) in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
Tuesday is still looking like our warmest day in the coming week with daytime highs climbing above the freezing mark to possibly as warm as 40 degrees in much of the Northland.
Note: Tuesday, February 8th will likely be the first time since January 18th with a high temperature above the freezing mark in Duluth.
