An active weather pattern continues into next week, but the storm track will continue to be well to the south of the Northland at least through this weekend, but things may change a bit as we head through next week.

The first system from tonight through Saturday misses the Northland, but the next system during the early to middle part of next week may track far enough north to bring some precipitation (rain/snow) to northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, but there continues to be a major amount of disagreement on the computer models regarding precipitation amounts and precipitation types in our area for next week.

Multiple episodes of severe weather are expected from this evening through the middle of next week (black outlined area on map below)

Here’s the 500mb forecast through March 24, 2022.

There won’t be a lot of snow with the storm in the Plains tonight and Friday, but what snow does fall will be whipped around by strong northerly winds, thus a blizzard warning is in effect for parts of central Kansas thru early Friday morning.
