Warmer temperatures the next few days; Rain chances increasing late in the week

Computer models are starting to come into better agreement regarding a late week system which looks to bring some rain to much of the Northland. The timing of this rain is still a bit uncertain, although at the moment the greatest chance for some rain looks to be from Friday into early Saturday.

European model has trended away from its strong upper trough and low over the upper Midwest which it showed 24 hours ago to higher heights and more ridging in today’s run valid for Sunday, September 11.

Between the Euro and GFS models, the Euro continues to be the wettest late this week, but even the dry GFS model has trended wetter today.

LONG RANGE FORECAST

Looks like more ridging along with higher 500mb heights will dominate the upper Midwest for much of next week.

Above normal temperatures are expected next week in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
