  • Snow continues in the Northland tonight and Sunday. Bands of moderate to heavy snow will continue to affect parts of the Northland tonight with snowfall rates of up to one half inch to one inch per hour in some areas.
  • Dry slot will impact mainly southern portions of the Northland (south of Duluth) tonight into Sunday morning, and under this dry slot snow will diminish to light snow and there could even be a little freezing drizzle/drizzle.
  • Persistent easterly flow crossing Lake Superior with 850mb temperatures of -8 to -11C will cause heavier lake enhanced/terrain enhanced snowfall along the North Shore and Twin Ports area tonight through Sunday afternoon.
  • The focus for some lake enhanced snow will shift to the South Shore of Lake Superior by Sunday evening, lingering through early Monday morning as winds become north to northwest.
  • Wind gusts of 20 to 35 mph are likely near Lake Superior tonight through Sunday night. Winds will be out of the east through Sunday morning, shifting to the north later Sunday afternoon/night. Areas of blowing snow are likely near Lake Superior due to these gusty winds, with significantly reduced visibilities with occasional brief whiteout conditions possible tonight.
  • Temperatures will range from the mid-teens to mid 20s tonight. Highs Sunday will be in the mid 20s to low 30s.

For Duluth — Snow tonight and through the day Sunday. Snow should start to diminish Sunday evening. Occasional blowing snow will significantly reduce visibilities tonight and Sunday.
