Updated Snow Stats for Duluth, Minnesota (National Weather Service location)
Snowfall storm total so far: 2.5 inches (thru 10 AM Sunday)
Current seasonal snowfall total: 134.2 inches
Seasonal snowfall record: 135.4 inches set in 1995-1996
Amount of snow still needed to set a new seasonal snowfall record: 1.3 inches
Chances are looking pretty good that will get enough snow out of today’s storm to break the seasonal snowfall record from 1995-1996, but like always only time will tell.
*A report of 5.3 inches of snow so far today near Brainerd (5 miles northeast), and 3.9 inches of snow so far today at Chisholm, Minnesota.
*Also saw a report of 0.25 inch of ice accumulation due to freezing rain earlier this morning 3 miles east of Payne, Minnesota which is a little west of Highway 53, and northwest of the Canyon area.
HRRR model radar forecast through 3 AM Monday — Looks like the snow will keep falling in Duluth through this evening and then we should see the snow taper off late tonight-early Monday morning while the Arrowhead and northwest Wisconsin continue to see snow through the end of this forecast model run which is 3 AM Monday. Note: Some areas of mixed precipitation including ice pellets and freezing rain will likely continue through this evening as well.
