The pattern is all messed up right now, although a more normal pattern does exist but that’s mostly over the southern U.S., but north of their, it’s chaotic right now.
We have winds aloft (500mb) blowing from east to west across much of Canada which is odd in itself.
*Gusty and cool east winds will linger near Lake Superior and Twin Ports through early next week with areas of fog at times (possibly dense) and perhaps some misty stuff.
*Scattered showers tonight mostly over northwest Wisconsin.
*Chances for rain increase from south to north in the Northland Saturday afternoon/evening.
***Twin Ports area*** Rain chances are highest Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. Chances for a few showers (albeit lower chances) continues for Sunday and Monday.
Rainfall totals will likely vary quite a bit across northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin through Sunday afternoon which is typical now that we’re transitioning into more of a summer like pattern (umm, away from Lake Superior that is)
Anywhere from 0.10″ to 1.00″ of rain is possible in the Northland thru Sunday afternoon.

It’s been a wet and stormy day over parts of southern Minnesota into central Wisconsin with numerous scattered downpours and some thunderstorms today. Note — Those lighter blue, purple and red colors represent rainfall totals of 1-3+” per radar estimates.

Big time heat across parts of the Southern Plains today with widespread 90s in Texas with even a few 100s mixed in.
60s and 70s in much of Minnesota today with considerably cooler temperatures near Lake Superior.
Temperatures in Wisconsin are all over the place with 50s where there’s been some rain today with warmer 60s and 70s in areas that have seen some sun today.
Wind chills around 30 in Downtown Duluth and Superior this afternoon.
Meanwhile in parts of Texas we have heat indices of 100 to 115 degrees this afternoon.
Finally seeing the development of some low clouds at the head of Lake Superior this afternoon as east winds persist while moisture gradually increases. The potential for low clouds and areas of fog which could be dense at times will continue near Lake Superior and Twin Ports from tonight through this weekend.
