Wildfire smoke will be increasing from north to south across the Northland over the next few days and some of this smoke could mix down to the surface from time to time, otherwise we’re looking at this smoke mostly aloft leading to hazy looking skies.

Note — Air Quality Alerts could be issued for parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin the next few days if this smoke becomes impactful enough to warrant an alert.

Here’s the HRRR model smoke forecast through 1 PM Wednesday — Greater amounts of smoke in yellow, orange, red and purple colors on the animation below.

And the moment you’ve all been waiting for…Here’s the NWS Blend of Models rainfall forecast through 7 PM Friday.

Not a drop of rain for Duluth through the day Friday the way it looks now, but there could be some rain as far east as central Minnesota on Friday, but whether or not this rain makes it far enough east to impact Duluth before drying up remains to be seen, if it did it looks to be sometime Friday night or Saturday when we could get a few drops.
