Last night into early this morning, the western regions of the Northland experienced significant rainfall, with amounts ranging from half an inch to nearly an inch. The highest recorded total was 0.90 inches at Cass Lake, Minnesota.
Rainfall amounts diminished significantly further east, with generally less than 0.10 inches, including 0.02 inches of rain recorded at the Duluth Airport earlier today.

Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected to develop later this afternoon, continuing into early Saturday morning. The majority of this rainfall should occur over northwest Wisconsin and far eastern Minnesota. Areas farther north, including Duluth and Superior, may experience some showers with lesser amounts of rain tonight (most likely after about 11 PM)

Once more, the heaviest rainfall from this second system is expected to remain to the south-southeast of Duluth and Superior later today and tonight.
Note: The rain expected in Duluth later tonight appears to be minimal, likely not exceeding a few hundredths of an inch.
