• Rain will cease from west to east across the southern portion of the Northland by late this evening. Note: The rain is expected to stop in Duluth sometime between 8 PM and 10 PM tonight.
• Expect patchy fog from overnight into early Tuesday morning.
• Expect dry conditions on Tuesday, with scattered showers developing mid to late in the week.

The rainy system present today will persist into the evening before the rain shifts south/east and clears from the southern areas of the Northland later tonight.

A significant weather system is swiftly moving eastward across the upper Midwest today.

Today, rain-cooled air extends from a large portion of North Dakota through parts of South Dakota, central Minnesota, and central Wisconsin. To the south, there’s an abundance of heat, while more agreeable temperatures are found further north in Ontario, Canada.

Rain chances will return to much of the Northland on Wednesday and Thursday, and may linger into Friday. However, this next system is not expected to produce widespread rain like today’s system. Instead, more scattered showers are likely to affect parts of the Northland intermittently from mid to late week as a cold front and a mid/upper-level low move south/east out of Manitoba and the northern Plains.

As we head into next week, warmer trends are emerging, with high temperatures expected to reach at least the 70s in the Northland. Additionally, there’s a possibility of seeing temperatures in the 80s on a few days, according to current projections.
