The potential for strong to severe thunderstorms exists in northeast Minnesota and far northwest Wisconsin from late Thursday afternoon into early Thursday evening, due to a cold front advancing eastward from western Minnesota.
The primary severe weather hazards expected late Thursday afternoon and into the evening are large hail, up to the size of ping pong balls (1.5″ in diameter), and damaging wind gusts reaching 60 mph.
