Some more snow is in the forecast along with milder temperatures after tonight.
Another shot of Arctic air was over the Northland today, but this Arctic airmass isn’t quite as potent as the one a few days ago.
850 mb temperatures were around -16 to -18°C across the Northland today while the 500 mb heights of around 528 decameters aren’t nearly as low as they were earlier in the week, but regardless of this, it’s still plenty cold with temperatures generally in the single digits above zero this afternoon.

Another very cold night is ahead as we will see temperatures bottom out between -5 and -15 degrees in the Northland, with some -20s likely in parts of northern Minnesota.
Note: There is a chance that this will be our last subzero night that we will see for the rest of this month, that is if we don’t see temperatures drop below zero Saturday night.
