A wet rest of the week is expected in northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.
Rain won’t be continuous through Saturday, with plenty of dry hours mixed in. However, scattered showers are expected this evening, as well as on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. A few thunderstorms are also likely, especially this evening.
A steadier rain could occur for a few hours between Thursday afternoon and Thursday night as a stronger wave, resembling a clipper system, moves in from the northwest.
NAM 3km model simulated radar forecast through 7 PM Wednesday.

Take a look at Thursday’s system, which could bring more widespread rainfall to areas of the Northland.
Euro model radar forecast valid 7 AM Thursday to 7 AM Friday.

By Friday morning, northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin could see an additional 0.10 to 0.50 inches of rain, with some spots in the Northland potentially receiving over half an inch.

Today was probably our last day of 70-degree temperatures at least through the weekend, but long-range forecasts hint that 70-degree weather could make a comeback next week, though that’s still a bit far off.
Look at these temperatures to our north today, where we have widespread 40s and 50s, with even colder temperatures in the 20s and 30s even farther to the north. We won’t get quite that cold in the Northland over the next few days, but we are looking at highs in the 40s and 50s, with lows in the 30s and 40s beginning on Wednesday and lasting through Saturday.

The chances of snow early Thursday morning in the Northland are quite low, but if any does occur, it would likely be limited to the tip of the Minnesota Arrowhead, away from Lake Superior, in the higher elevations.
Once again, I’m not anticipating any snow in Duluth early Thursday morning or across most of the Northland, for that matter.
Temperatures aloft (850mb) are expected to drop to around 0 to -2°C early Thursday morning, but I don’t think surface temperatures will fall low enough for frozen precipitation, except possibly in the tip of the Arrowhead, as previously mentioned.
