Correction from my earlier post today: Rather than setting a new daily low temperature record, both Hibbing and International Falls tied their record low of 20 degrees on October 8.
Another chilly night is expected under clear skies, with temperatures dipping into the 20s and 30s in many areas. However, they’ll climb into the 50s and 60s by Thursday afternoon.
A few showers are expected late Thursday into early Friday as a cold front passes, with rain amounts between a trace and 0.10 inches.
There’s a chance of rain on Sunday and again around the middle of next week. By next Wednesday, northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin could receive about a quarter to half an inch of rain, with some areas getting more than half an inch.

This afternoon’s upper-level analysis reveals the chilly upper trough over the upper Midwest on Tuesday moving eastward, while another strong upper low/trough approaches the Pacific Northwest. Meanwhile, an upper-level ridge dominates the Deep South.
