Since 2000, there’s only been 6 Novembers with above average snowfall in Duluth, the most recent was in 2020 with 19.2 inches of snow.

Does a snowy November guarantee an above-average snow season in Duluth? Not necessarily. In 2012 and 2013, Duluth experienced well below average snowfall in November, yet both years ended with annual totals well above average, reaching around 130 inches of snow.

November 2022 ended with slightly below-average snowfall, but the 2022-2023 snow season set a record in Duluth, with approximately 140 inches of snow.

Interestingly, November 2014 brought above-average snowfall to Duluth, but the overall season ended up far below average with only 49 inches of snow.

The past two Novembers in Duluth have seen snowfall well below average, and both the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 snow seasons experienced significantly lower snowfall than usual.

Since 2000, there have been 10 Novembers with colder-than-average temperatures, the most recent being in 2019 with an average monthly temperature of 26.3 degrees. The coldest November since 2000 occurred in 2014 with an average temperature of 21.8 degrees, while the warmest was in 2016 with an average of 40.2 degrees. For reference, the average November temperature in Duluth is 29.8 degrees.

Time will tell what November 2025 has in store.
