Rain and snow will move through parts of southern Minnesota and southern and central Wisconsin tonight and into Tuesday, with the precipitation tapering off from west to east during the day.
Temperatures, though only slightly cooler, should be enough to bring a mix of rain and snow, or even a change to all snow, late tonight into Tuesday morning across parts of southern Minnesota and central Wisconsin.
This precipitation is linked to an area of low pressure moving east from central Kansas tonight, along with a mid to upper-level low and trough shifting east from the western High Plains.
No rain or snow is expected from this system in northeast Minnesota or northwest Wisconsin tonight or on Tuesday.
Winter weather advisories are in effect for parts of southern Minnesota and central Wisconsin from late tonight through Tuesday morning.


Tonight’s system will bring a sharp north-to-south gradient in snowfall. Most areas on the far north and south ends will see less than an inch, while the middle region could get 1 to 3 inches, with some spots possibly topping 3 inches by early Tuesday afternoon.

Overall precipitation totals (rain and snow) will show a sharp gradient on both the north and south ends, while the central area could see half an inch or more by Tuesday afternoon.

Expect a bit of rain and snow in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin from late Wednesday through Thursday evening as a fairly strong trough moves southeast across the region. Moisture will be limited with this system since it’s coming from Canada.

Out of 20 GEFS ensemble members, 13 predict little to no snow in Duluth by next Thursday (Thanksgiving), November 27, 2025, while 7 suggest some snow. Right now, the odds aren’t looking very high for much snow in Duluth over the next week to 10 days.
